Dr. Yijuan (Lucy) Lu--Principle Investigator
Dr. Yijuan (Lucy) Lu is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and the Director of Media Lab at Texas State University. Dr. Lu is interested in methodologies that help create efficient and effective Internet Media and Vision system. Her current research focuses on large-scale media data acquisition, processing, retrieval, and understanding. Her research has received support from the National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, Army Research, Texas Department of Transportation and Nvidia. [webpage]

Dr. Xiao Chen--Co-Investigator
Dr. Xiao Chen is an associate professor of computer science at Texas State University. She has been a visiting researcher at UT Austin and research associate at U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. Her research interests include various topics in delay tolerant networks, sensor networks, and ad hoc wireless networks. She served as an associate editor, program committee member, session chair, and reviewer of numerous international journals and conferences. [webpage]

Dr. Byron Gao--Co-Investigator
Dr. Byron J. Gao is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at Texas State Univesity. He received Ph.D. and B.Sc. in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University, Canada, in 2007 and 2003 respectively. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Wisconsin - Madison before joining Texas State University - San Marcos in 2008. His research spans several related fields including data mining, databases, information retrieval, and bioinformatics. [webpage]

Dr. Anne Ngu--Co-Investigator
Dr. Anne Ngu is a Full Professor with the Department of Computer Science at Texas State University. Her main research interests are in information integration, automating scientific and business processes, service and cloud computing, databases, and object-oriented technologies. She has worked in different countries as a researcher, including Institute of Systems Science in Singapore, Tilburg University in the Netherlands , Telcordia Technologies, Lawrence Livermore National Laborartory , and MCC in Austin, Texas. From 1992-2000, she worked as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Engineering, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia where I specialized in the teaching on databases and performing research in next generation database systems. She also hold an adjunct Associate Professor position at UNSW from 2002-2006. Her research have been funded by Australian Reseach Council, National Science Foundation, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. [webpage]

Dr. Apan Qasem--Co-Investigator
Dr. Apan Qasem is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and the Director of the Compilers Research Lab (CRL) at Texas State University. His research interests lie in the areas of automated performance tuning (autotuning), machine learning, GPGPU, energy efficiency and computer science education. His research has received support from the National Science Foundation (including a CAREER award), Department of Energy, Semiconductor Research Consortium (SRC), Nvidia, Intel and IBM (including a Faculty Award).
