CS 4371 - Computer System Security

Course Description:

Course covers practical aspects of computer system security including managing and producing code for secure systems. Theory, such as cryptography, is introduced as needed.

Prerequisite:

Course Objectives:

1.

Students successfully completing the course will understand the many security issues of the day and will understand the implications of them.

2.

The students will know and apply methodologies minimizing security risks in code they write.

3.

Students will know and apply procedures in system management to protect systems and to recover compromised systems.

4.

Students will be able to access security risks and devise plans to prevent or mitigate system compromise and to maintain and to develop trusted computer systems
