CS 5369R - Research in Digital Forensics

Course Description:

Students will design and implement computer based forensic tools applicable to an instructor chosen domain.

Course Objectives:

This course is designed to focus development skills learned in computer science courses and forensic skills learned in other courses to produce students competent in research and development in the area of forensics tools.

Accomplishing this goal will require students to achieve the following objectives:

Apply research techniques to identify the requirements for an effective approach to solving a problem in forensics.

4.

Design and implement a software system in accordance with the gathered requirements.

5.

Test the tool developed for effectiveness and design a deployment plan.
