CS 5369Y - Green Computing

Course Description:

Reducing mobile device, cloud computing platform, and supercomputer energy consumption is a paramount, daunting problem. This course covers state-of-the-art green computing research, including energy-efficient hardware and software design, power-aware resource management and storage solutions, green data centers and mobile computing. Cannot be taken for credit if received CS 4379Y credit.

Course Objectives:

The goal of this course is to introduce fundamental concepts and techniques of Green Computing.

2.

Students who complete this course will be able to understand how green systems, hardware and software are designed.

3.

In addition, students will be able to acquire in-depth knowledge and skills needed to do research in the green computing field.
