The Fall of 2021 version of CS 43719V: Fundamentals of Algorithm Design and Analysis will be taught by a Facebook software engineer, Sami Alsheikh, through the Facebook "Engineer in Residence" program. This will be a high-touch class taught by an engineer designing the course with an eye toward preparing students for the tech industry. Sami will be relocating the course with an eye toward preparing students for the tech industry. Sami will be relocating for the semester to teach on campus. There is an enrollment cap, so register soon if interested!
OVERVIEW OF THE COURSE
The course will build on and review key parts of CS 3358: Data Structures and Algorithms to cover many algorithms foundational to Computer Science and highlight their relevance to challenges in industry. We will develop the skills and intuition to help you design efficient algorithms for new problems which will help in technical interview preparedness. You will grow a greater appreciation of how valuable this skill/intuition is and how anyone can meaningfully improve these abilities over time.
