Funded Ph.D. positions

We are recruiting students in multiple key research areas of the department. This includes Data Analytics and Management, High-Performance Computing, Network and Cyber Security, Real-time Systems, Software Engineering, and Human-Computer Interaction.
 
We are also seeking students who are interested in applying AI to health. The students will be involved in a National Science Foundation-funded collaborative research project on fall risk analysis and detection in the elderly population using multi-modal machine learning techniques. Students will be working directly with Professor Ngu and will have the opportunity to interact with physicians from the University of Texas, Dell Medical School and faculty at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Texas State’s applied computer science Ph.D. program is the first of its kind in Texas to combine the application of computer science knowledge and theory with commercialization and entrepreneurship skills necessary for innovation, leadership and navigating multiple career paths.
