CS 4298 - Undergraduate Research I

Course Description:

Supervised individual research project in a mentor-student relationship with a computer science faculty member. Cannot be given degree credit until the satisfactory completion of CS 4299.

Prerequisite:

Prerequisites: Minimum 3.00 Major GPA and instructor approval.

Course Objectives:

1.

The student will conduct a literature review with the assistance of the instructor (advisor).

2.

The student will develop an annotated bibliography of at least 10 references.

3.

The student will present the results of the literature review to the advisor.

4.

The student will refine the research hypothesis based on the literature review with the assistance of the instructor.

5.

The student will conduct a simple experiment to refine the hypothesis.
